It started with a wedding in 2006. We came to French Polynesia convinced it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience — the kind of place you visit once and carry with you forever. Twenty years and countless return trips later, I can tell you we were beautifully, completely wrong about that.
French Polynesia is not a destination you ever fully know. It rewards the people who keep coming back — each visit deeper than the last, shaped by something the islanders call Mana. A sacred force.
